Halloween bubble foam being made

There’s a basic recipe for making bubble foam (Halloween bubble foam or regular, of course):

Combine 2 to 1 ratio of tear-free soap to water (water mixed with food coloring if desired – I went with green for Halloween witch reasons).

Mix with a hand mixer, blender, and stand mixer until “stiff peaks” form.

I put all my bubble foam into a sensory bin (I used my BELOVED 28 qt sensory bin (affiliate link). I used 1 cup of bubble bath and 1/2 cup of water.

Next, I set in a few Halloween trinkets (cauldrons and eye balls mostly) and kitchen utensils. And that was it: the Halloween bubble foam was officially ready.

Bubble foam is the ultimate sensory moment – we just love it

There’s something magical about bubble foam.

It’s messy – but clean messy.

It’s sensory – but isn’t wildly complicated.

It’s perfection for kids – but doesn’t need tons of supplies.

Bubble foam is quite literally the best.

I get it! This activity can look a little intimidating – it doesn’t have to be. Remember, it’s just soap and waters… fancy bubbles.

Here are some ideas for where to play with bubble foam:

This doesn’t have to be an indoor activity or a kitchen floor activity. It’s fantastic outside. It’s fantastic in a bathroom.

Nope!

  1. The food coloring for this activity is HEAVILY diluted by the water.
  2. Food coloring is water soluble and will eventually rinse clean.

Even if you get concentrated food coloring on a white shirt, just leave it in cold water for an entire day. It’ll all seep out.
